About Linkword Languages
The Linkword languages CD-ROM courses teach an extended vocabulary and basic grammar that can be learned in 10-12 hours. There is no tedious repetition. You learn the vocabulary by seeing and hearing the word and remember each word with the help of an effective mental image.
Each Linkword level costs £27.95 inclusive of postage to the UK or Ireland.
Linkword CD-ROM courses are for the PC and are compatible with Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP.
Linkword Level One Contents
The entire Level 1 course takes approximately 10 - 12 hours to complete. It contains an extensive vocabulary, basic grammar and sentence translations. After you have completed the Level 1 course you will be able to communicate effectively in a large number of situations you will meet abroad.
For children it has been shown in many studies that Linkword vastly increases motivation and the enjoyment of language learning.
Linkword Level Two Contents
The ideal follow up to Level 1. This course extends the vocabulary by about 100% over Level 1, and increases considerably the level of grammar taught. For schoolwork, business or travel.
Linkword level 2 is also the ideal revision course for anyone rusty and who wishes to brush up their knowledge extremely quickly.
Linkword Level Three Contents
Level 3 Linkword teaches a further vocabulary of approximately 300 words and more complex grammar than in previous courses.
The course is similar to previous courses in using the Linkword method to teach vocabulary and gender and in using sentence examples for the learner to translate.
Linkword Level Four Contents
Level 4 teaches a further similar amount of new vocabulary to level 3,and again teaches more complex grammar. By the time the learner has completed level 4, he or she will have covered all the grammar needed to pass GCSE and a vocabulary of some 1350 words. Published studies have shown that the average pupil in British schools has a vocabulary of between 800-900 words after 4 years of French school lessons.

Dr. Michael Gruneberg the writer and developer of the Linkword language courses is an internationally recognised expert on learning methods. A former president of an international learned society for memory and cognition, he has published numerous well known books on applying memory research.
He is at present visiting Professor in psychology at Indiana State University.
